Figure atypical of Italian design since the 50s, Enzo Mari designs items of furniture and textiles for industrial production, while remaining attentive to craftsmanship. His creations for the large Italian firms are "must" constantly reprinted and exhibited in museums. Insatiable experimenter materials, projects are made of plastic, marble, cast iron, wood, ceramic or glass from Murano.
Since 1950, Italian design has a striking image with creative people such as Ettore Sottsass, Game Aulenti, Joe Colombo, Andrea Branzi ... emulating his illustrious contemporaries, Enzo Mari has participated in awareness creation in the years Milanese 60. Wary of the principles of the consumer society, it therefore seeks to develop solid objects, plastic, for Danese. Games and toys, cut fruit Adal, pots pens or calendars quickly become famous for their style and bold shapes. Over the past forty years, they still seem contemporary. Collectors are fond and firm Alessi has reissued some of them in 1997. Artist, writer, graphic designer, Enzo Mari explores all creative fields and, as usual, is not limited to any material: wood, textiles, polyurethane, cast iron, marble, alabaster ... Its Elementary Series Ceramic Gabbianelli spirits brand in 1968 and in the 90s, he imagines vases and bowls made of Murano glass supplementing the hundreds of items already done for Danese. More recently, he signed a line of crystal glasses for the collection Clearline Products Arnolfo di Cambio.
